Headphone render

A brand new Chinese New Year is coming! While still pondering about it, i spent some time and created a brand new headphone to learn more about render and shaders in maya. =D

Not really limiting the render, i just wanted to see how it turns out. Overall im quite happy with the result. =) I also added a wireframe pix if you are curious about it.

28/01/10 – Added a lime-green version with some 2d doodling.


Shelby GT500 re-light

Maybe its the new year bloodrush, i saw a tutorial rendering a car with the studio lights setting a couple of days ago and decided to give it a try with my Shelby GT500. Kinda miss my car. Maybe i should model the Shelby GT500 2010 series, when the time permits..


Access Machine

Lots of stuffs happen around me everyday lol. I guess i could really find ways to make my life more interesting.

Anyway back then, i was thinking how far can i push the limit of lowpoly game object with texturing? So i decided to test it out on  something really simply. I learned to appreciate those detailed lowpoly models even more now.. Sometimes it’s not as easy as it seems, when you are limited to only photoshop for texturing.

i model it in maya, export the uvs to photoshop for texturing and render out using the marmoset game engine. For more information abt the marmoset engine, could check out my previous post.


1967 Shelby Mustang

Finally…. my shelby is done~~! =D For my own personal practice, taken quite awhile doing all the modeling/texturing and rendering during and after work.

With some helpful comments from my colleagues, more or less im quite please with the overall result.  Now i will have a new subject to play with for test render next time round lol.
p.s. Here u go Sacha, a yellow shelby ;)

Dragon head sculpt

Dragon head

Yesterday, Davin encouraged me to sculpt a dragon in zbrush. It has never came across my mind to sculpt a dragon. So i decided to give it a try, focusing on the head for a start. Based on one reference picture i found on the net, managed to complete it roughly around 6-7 hours. It’s really tiring but fulfilling, lol when i tried to complete it as soon as possible after work.

Not too bad for a start. xD i might try a full dragon next time. Spotted some mistakes/pointers here and there to take note of, thanks to the feedback given by my colleagues and DVE 12 for making it happen.


Render in Marmoset Engine

Thanks to Victor for sharing with me the Marmoset Engine. I tested it with my just-created-wall. The result was pretty awesome. :) It is only limited to just screenshots capture, no turntable/wiremesh options at the moment.

3d Lowpoly Environment

It has been awhile since i last update lol. Recently just completed a mini low poly environment to test out texturing and zbrush techniques. It really has been very fun and interesting. The shader i used is the real-time shader and so finding a few nice angles to take some shots. Hope u like it. =) C&C are welcome.

New character model

Currently im creating another character to practice my skills. Added some of my sketches.

Actually was intending to participate it in the Dominance War IV. But due to other commitments, was unable to make it on time. Nevertheless i will complete it as a practice. =)

I have modeled the low poly in Maya. So the next stage is to bring it into z-brush for some sculpting practice. =D

Oh, btw his name is Istira Seninta. Class:Warlord. Weapon:Wrath of Arimaham. I could come out with a background story for him. Sounds fun, but i will keep as it is for now.
